Reviews and Recommendations
Don’t be afraid to ask customers for reviews and recommendations. When I am looking for a new children’s dentist or the best-rated restaurant nearby I head over to Google or Yelp to check out the reviews. I will read the reviews thoroughly in order to make a decision.
Create a poster at your business asking for reviews, or send your customer an email and/or text politely asking for a review or recommendation.
Just a Text Away
I love the ease of text marketing services to reach your customer directly. These are great for reminders, notifications of flash sales, and special promotions just for your text list. Be friendly and make sure that your customer has opted into your service. This can be a very helpful tool for you to engage with your customers and a great tool for your customer to have an open line of communication with you. End your text with a unique signature on each message with your slogan or something simple like “From your friendly staff at ___.”
There are several ways to show your customers how much you appreciate them. From loyalty programs, to free upgrades, to celebrating their milestones like birthdays, anniversaries and graduation. One of my favorite customer appreciation ideas is hosting an event to show your gratitude to customers. Give your frequent customers that special VIP treatment by holding an after-hours indulging evening with some champagne, sweets and exclusive deals. However, for an immediate show of your appreciation, you can never go wrong with a hand-written note.
