You are ready to let your market know about all the amazing products and services you have to offer, but who is your market? This week I’m going to talk about your ideal customer. Finding your ideal customer is a lot of fun to do and it’s actually one of the first things you should do when you start marketing your business.
Let’s begin thinking about who it is you serve? Is it a working mom, small business owner or retired teacher? Are they male or female? How old are they? Where do they live? What are their hobbies? What type of industry are they in?
Most importantly, what are their pain points and how can you solve them?
I want you to create a detailed picture of your ideal customer. Give her or him a name, so that you can better visualize this person.
You may come up with 2-5 different customers, but narrow it down to the few that actually buy a lot from you and that you truly enjoy working with. If you cringe every time one of your customer’s calls, let’s not focus on that customer. We want to focus on the ones that inspire and motivate you.
Download our Worksheet Ideal Customer worksheet to help you get some clarity on who your ideal customer is. I recommend scheduling about 30 minutes all to yourself to complete this very important worksheet. If you want to market to your ideal customer successfully, you gotta know who they are.
Be sure to come back to this worksheet whenever you create a new product. Feel free to share your ideal customer persona by emailing me.
