As a content creator, one of the major areas I focus on is my content plan – basically, what am I going to do with my content once it’s done? When I refer to content, I mean anything from a blog post like this one here, a video, an infographic, a graphic, etc.
Once your content piece is done, the next step is to get your content out to your ideal customer. To be sure that you hit all the right areas, it’s best to have a content distribution plan, a system in place to make sure you get your customer wherever they are. It takes awhile to develop a system that works best for you.
When I release a blog for one of my clients, I print out my detailed Blog Distribution Process List Worksheet and I check off each item one by one so I don’t miss a thing. Today, I’m going to give you a freebie that will help you with your blog distribution. My very own tool, but first…here’s some tips for you to think about.
It’s so important to have a plan on blog release day because, without one, all that hard work you put into your content will go to waste. Your fabulous content will just travel aimlessly through your website or social media. And we don’t want that, do we?
While you develop your blog distribution checklist, think of these important blog release items:
- You’ll need to format your posts and copy appropriately. Ex. Twitter word count is 140, LinkedIn is 689, Instagram is 2200
- Blog graphics come in all different sizes. Take the time to make graphics for each social media platform. Ex. Twitter image size is 440 x 220
- End with a call to action. Make it clear to your audience exactly what you want them to do after reading your post. Ex. Ask them to click the link in your bio or the one in your post
I’m excited for you to start using my blog distribution tool, Blog Distribution Process List Worksheet. Be sure to let me know how it works out for you.
